Animals were never the niche. They were always the direction.
Born and raised in Togo, West Africa, and shaped by a multicultural background, I grew up with animals as one of the most constant threads in my life. That connection became an education, a career, and eventually the foundation for Compass & Claw.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology on the pre-veterinary track with a minor in Equine Science, then built years of hands-on experience in veterinary medicine. Today, that knowledge meets a real multi-species household and a creative studio built to tell better stories about life with animals.

Before the brand, there was always the animal.
This is an earlier chapter of the same story: learning around horses, building confidence through hands-on animal care, and following that interest far enough for it to become part of an education and a career.
Years later, that early curiosity became formal study, deeper equine experience, and part of the foundation behind Compass & Claw. This image keeps the beginning visible: hands-on, curious, and genuinely happy to be there.
Create with the animal in mind.
Good pet content should respect the animal, help the human, and make a product’s place in their shared life easy to understand.
